Hideaway Beach Resort and Spa Dhonakulhi Maldives

We paid for what should have been a paradise holiday, but the experience was terrible. The staff were incredibly rude, and the person assigned to look after us didn’t handle anything. For distant areas, the buggy could take more than 30 minutes to arrive after we called, so we ended up walking many times. No one offered a solution. Even with the all-inclusive package, some meals came with limits, including being told we could take only one dish. At the restaurants, they tried to seat us at the very back and wouldn’t give us the table we picked, saying it was reserved. We were guests too, so why couldn’t a table be reserved for us? We’ve stayed at another hotel in the Maldives before, where an authorized person managed the whole booking process, and had no such problems. Our flight was the only one and was very late, so we asked for late checkout for health reasons. They said there was no availability, despite the hotel being almost empty, even though we were willing to pay extra. They turned beautiful moments into a disgrace. A terrible experience.

The people are what made this place unforgettable. Shahin, our butler, was professional, thoughtful, always available, and attentive to every detail, so everything felt easy and stress-free. Saiful kept our room beautifully arranged and spotless, and kindly helped me open coconuts too. His positive attitude meant a lot. Delia, the manager, made my birthday unforgettable with the most beautiful arrangements. The whole team put so much care and kindness into making us feel welcome and appreciated. We also loved spending time with Sandra at Yoga. Her warmth, energy, and positivity made every session relaxing and memorable. The peaceful island, stunning villas, and clear water were wonderful, but the care from these people is what we’ll cherish most. It was the most beautiful vacation we’ve ever had, and pure paradise.

We especially liked the Asian food at Matheefaru Restaurant, and the white-sand beaches were pristine. Alya was wonderful, very professional, and clearly knows her job well. The natural setting was lovely to look at too. A real luxury-level experience, 10/10.

Anastasiia made vacation so much easier as our butler. She handled everything we needed, sorted out problems, and reminded us about events and items included in our package. We had an amazing time at Hideaway, with phenomenal privacy, accommodations, and beaches unlike anywhere I’ve been. The multiple plane rides from the US were definitely worth it. Highly recommend Samsara restaurant and the resort.
