Eleven Trees Maldives

The rooms were very clean, with balconies looking out over the ocean, and cafes, restaurants and beach excursions nearby made the city and beach feel nicely balanced. We also thought the chef was excellent, both with people and in the kitchen. Reception and maintenance were friendly, the driver knew the area well and had a lovely personality, and the manager Ahmed and Eleventrees staff handled things well. My wife and I had to extend our stay after an awful experience at Male airport left us unable to board our plane. We were disappointed at first, but were glad we stayed at this newly built hotel. They granted our late checkout request for a small discounted fee. For a reasonably priced, family-friendly option in Hulumale with a great view and service, I’d recommend it. Wishing them the best, and hope they keep up the good customer service.

Since the management changed two months ago, the hotel has been renamed NOOVILA GRAND. The new manager, Vivian, was very helpful, and I found the place clean and well located beside the beach. Don't let the negative reviews put you off staying here.

The staff were excellent and helpful, and breakfast was good. Dinner wasn't great, though the food itself was tasty. We were told to expect a buffet, but there was usually just one gravy dish with chapati and rice, so more choices would have been welcome. Even with only two rooms occupied, we were given a room with a window that faced another building just 2-3 feet away, so there was no fresh air. There are other places you could consider.

The room was small but fine for one person or a couple, and the location is good. Still, the place needs proper housekeeping and better management. The pillows smelled damp, the toilet hadn't been cleaned well, there was sand in the shower, soap marks in the holder, a flickering ceiling light, a broken Muslim shower, unchanged toilet paper, no bath mat, and towels with large holes. The mini fridge smelled moldy and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. The Agoda listing promised a view, but mine was a concrete wall. Getting checked in was a mess. I arrived around 12:15 p.m. and found nobody at reception, just a paper with a phone number. The person who answered only spoke Hindi, or so they said, and didn't know English. Then a casually dressed man appeared, though I couldn't tell if he worked there or was a visitor. He seemed as lost as I was when I explained I'd booked through Agoda, and called someone. I guess no one checks the emails. Two minutes later he said the room was ready, but someone else's luggage was inside. I went back to reception, he made another call, and I waited another 15 minutes before another man came to sort it out and finally give me a key. Such a bad experience.
