Medhufushi Island Resort

The room was spacious, neat, and clean, with a king size bed. I really liked the washroom concept. There were plenty of chairs and a sofa arranged in the lobby. They have both beach villas and water villas, and every room has a beach view.

Once we checked in, I felt sure we’d made the right choice for my kid’s first international trip. I’d been a little nervous beforehand, but the staff made everything easy, coordinating the airport pickup and transfers. Even though the journey from the airport took about 2 hours and 15 minutes, it was comfortable and smooth. The resort is lovely, with spacious, well-maintained rooms, delicious food, and excellent service. Ajay at Villubar and Jagan at the resort took care of all our needs and made the stay memorable. I’d highly recommend it for a relaxing, well-managed family getaway.

We chose full board for meals and found it totally worth it, though I wish we’d added drinks too. The bar is really quiet during the day, and we had such a nice time on our stay. Hasem served us at mealtimes and was great, so we’re grateful to him. The staff also work really hard on all the extra entertainment activities. Everyone welcomed us warmly and responded to our requests quickly and helpfully. A great stay overall.

Hasem and Maharazul deserve a big thank you. Hasem was our personal waiter for the whole stay and was brilliant. My fiancee has a gluten intolerance, and the team made sure she had food that worked for her. Maharazul cleaned our water villa every day. He noticed the anniversary cards in our room and decorated the bed, which was such a lovely gesture. The service started as soon as we collected our luggage at the airport. A friendly rep escorted us and our bags to the sea plane, and our luggage was waiting in the room when we arrived. Everyone at the resort was so friendly and could not do enough for us. You really feel treated like royalty. The island is beautiful and full of wildlife. It’s so quiet during the day that it feels like you’re the only people there, and the rooms are immaculate. Snorkeling was included with the all inclusive package and was brilliant. We also paid extra for the dolphin trip, which was well worth it. We saw a few families with children. I’m sure they had a nice time, but while the resort is child friendly, it’s very quiet and has no playground, so it may not be the best place for kids. I noticed some bad reviews about staff, but our experience was that they treated all guests fairly and attentively. Some guests from particular cultures came across as rude to staff and seemed to complain about anything. There were also comments about lizards in the rooms. Yes, they’re native to the islands and it’s their home. They’re cute and harmless, so if you’re scared of them, don’t book a resort in the Maldives. A wonderful place for couples and adults. We’d highly recommend it. 10/10.
