I came wanting something outside the Resort Bubble, and people here were even more welcoming than at the Resorts I know. That’s why I loved it so much, and could smile about the little imperfections. The room was big and clean, with a nice bed. The bathroom was... an adventure 😂 Beautiful plants, too!

We only spent one night at Alaika Maafushi and wished we’d booked all three. It was great value at €64, including breakfast and Green Tax. The staff were super friendly, and even offered a gluten-free breakfast. I’d definitely stay again!

Rakib was a huge help during our two-night stay. He picked us up from the port at 11pm and always answered my questions quickly. On our last day, he took us back to the port for the local ferry to another island. Thanks as well for the fruit from the beautiful yard. We’ll come back!

I won’t come back. They charged me 4% for paying by credit card, even though I knew from Booking.com that it was free if paid directly there. My room was in the lobby area, loud late into the night and early in the morning. The day before checkout they asked when I was leaving, and I said 12. At 11.30 they knocked and told me to pack up and go. Very nice, right? I can’t recommend this hotel. 50 euro per night is too much, especially since the hotel before this one was very different for the same price.

Our stay at Alaika got off to a pleasant start, and everything was perfect apart from one thing: I wish they’d provided beach towels. I recommend this accommodation!
