The rooms have lovely traditional decor, with local art and artisan pieces, and the stone villa itself is beautiful. The air conditioning works really well, and the location is great. You can hear other guests quite clearly because the rooms aren't well insulated. There’s no coffee or tea unless you bring your own and prepare it in the shared kitchen.

The only real drawback is parking: there’s no lot, so you have to leave the car on the street, where accidents or theft could be a concern. Apart from that, the price and facilities make this a place I’d recommend. Restaurants and shops are only about a five-minute walk away, and the location is right in the heart of downtown Campeche. It’s a historic house with eight rooms, each with air conditioning, mirrors, extra blankets, and a private bathroom. The shared spaces include an open living room and a small kitchen with a fridge, stove, sink, and cabinets.

The location is hard to beat, and it’s a lovely, interesting old house. It’s around 400 years old, modernized while keeping many original features. I could hear water in the courtyard well, though there’s no need to use it. The shared kitchen has instant hot and cold purified water and other useful equipment. The website says there’s no staff on site, but Fahrucio, a very helpful young man, was there during the day. There are some stairs, including to our room. Not many, but they were a bit difficult for my husband, who has mobility issues. We didn’t hear traffic, though moving the common-area chairs makes quite a racket. The frustrating part was the shower. We reported that there was no hot water, and a crew came to work on it. It was working by 10 at night, but in the morning the water was barely above cold. We’ve lived in a house over 100 years old, so we understand plumbing problems, but it was still frustrating. We really appreciated how the owners responded, and would probably stay again.

Mariana was great about keeping in touch and answering all our questions. Casa Lanz itself is stunning, and our room was spacious and beautiful. We had a wonderful stay, with the main plaza and cathedral just half a block away.
