Posada Tierra Blanca

The pool was a nice way for the kids to cool down in the summer heat, and the night guard was kind and attentive. He also helped us when we left early the next morning. There weren't any pool towels, though, so you need to bring your own or leave your driver's license at reception. I had to leave mine there to borrow extra towels, which wasn't ideal, especially since there were only two towels in the room for four of us. Our room had enough space for four. The carpet looked old and somewhat dirty, and there's a small step between the bathroom sink area and the toilet that could trip someone. The hotel is also well placed for a walking sightseeing trip, just a short stroll from the historic center.

We liked the location enough to stay a second night. The Cathedral and central downtown were less than a five-minute walk away. Breakfast was included, served buffet-style in a small restaurant, with local people coming in for made-to-order meals too. The property was well maintained, and parking was free behind a gate. They let us park our motorcycle right in front of our ground-floor room. The pool was clean, though unheated. We stayed in November 2022.

The one thing I appreciated was how quiet it was. We had a standard double in the building behind the rooms facing the pool, and it was in rough shape. Pretty much everything looked old and dated, and the heater barely worked. You might have a better stay in one of the suites or the rooms by the pool, but I’d look elsewhere for this room.

The pool looked inviting, but it was covered in leaves, so we couldn't swim. The rooms were nice and there was plenty of hot water. Breakfast was awful, especially the coffee in plastic cups, and there was no fruit.
