San Felipe el Real

A lovely old building full of quirky antiques, close to Centro but quiet, with easy street parking right outside. The staff were helpful, though not especially friendly. Our room felt quite cramped, and there’s no morning coffee unless you arrange breakfast ahead of time.

It felt like staying at home, with comfortable beds and linens, a distinctive collection of antiques, and strong air conditioning. The TV worked and the hot water came at decent pressure. Our room could’ve used a few more outlets, but it wasn’t a problem. Great location and staff, plus an on-site travel agency. Excellent hotel.

Inside, it feels like a museum, though from the street it’s just a plain wall. This quiet boutique courtyard hotel is a few blocks from the big street, so it’s close to everything but peaceful. I’m glad we stayed. The 24-hour front desk was handy, and they fixed the gap in the rustic bedroom door with weather strip tape.

The staff were warm and really focused on helping guests. I liked the hotel's unusual decor, and the rooms were pleasant, though the sheets and pillows could use an update. A charming little place right in the city center.
