The friendly receptionists couldn't make up for how disappointing the stay was. The room was tiny, there was no hot water, and the shower made a strange noise when I turned on the tap. At more than 2,000 per night, it felt far too expensive for what was offered. Chilpancingo has better hotels, even though this one looked nice.

Arcadia gives the city a cultural space it needed, with lots of events each month. I like the view of the San Francisco kiosk and find the setting relaxing for a date or a meeting. Its menu is fairly modest compared with other cafes, but I think it's worth visiting at least once.

On Wednesdays they give away a book, with the idea that you pass it along after reading. That's a lovely touch at this spot in the San Francisco plaza in Chilpancingo de los Bravo. I recommend having a coffee at Ítaca with a Margueritte ciabatta, maybe while you read. Enjoy your meal and happy reading!

I enjoy spending afternoons at Arcadia. The people who greet you are very friendly, and it's a lovely place to enjoy excellent coffee alongside paintings, drawings, or prints.
