Fiesta Inn Coatzacoalcos

The entrance door is a manual slider, which is a bit inconvenient when you’re carrying luggage. Otherwise, the rooms and service are good. It’s right on the beach, and there’s a nice bar on the ground floor.

The staff were very nice, from reception to the restaurant. The hotel is just across the main road from the Gulf of Mexico, with a great view. You can walk along the seafront and get some nice pictures. Cleanliness was okay, though there was a slight smell in the room. Maybe it came from the sea breeze, but I’m not sure. The sheets and pillowcases were badly stained and dirty. Staff showed me a room on a higher floor with a beautiful view, but its sheets were dirty too. When I asked for fresh ones, they brought me cleaner sheets. It wasn’t a bad stay overall, but I would have rated it higher if the sheets had been clean.

The staff did their best to make the stay pleasant, but the hotel itself is in poor shape and constantly under maintenance. There’s been no hot water for three days, and even the cold tap water comes out colored like sewage. Nobody at reception could say when service would be restored.

The staff were helpful and friendly, and I’d recommend staying here. Compared with Long Beach, USA, it was half the price, with much better food at the hotel restaurant. The chef really knows how to cook seafood. My favorite was the fish baked in aluminum foil.
