It's hard to find somewhere affordable that's also nice, but this place managed all three. The owner communicated really well and went out of his way to help with anything I needed. I work in customer service, so it's not easy to surprise me, but he did. He'll give you a free ride wherever you need to go. I really recommend staying here.

The room was comfortable and a pretty good value, and they even picked us up from the bus stop, though it's about a 15-minute walk away. The place is small and run by a really friendly, helpful couple. The shared kitchen was a big plus for meeting other travelers, and for being able to cook vegetables, which is always welcome on a long trip through Mexico.

The shared kitchen was handy for making our own meals, and there was a nearby grocery shop where we could buy fresh produce. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from central Creel and the plaza, but we didn't mind the walk. Usually two to four friendly street dogs would come along without bothering us. Diego picked us up at the Creel train station when we arrived on the Chepe train and offered to drive us back to the center after checkout so we could catch our bus to Chihuahua. My wife and I liked the small hotel's relaxed, tranquilo feel. The rooms were clean and cozy, and the shower had good pressure.

The room might feel a bit small to some people, but we liked it. It was impressively clean and cozy, and the staff were attentive and very friendly. A GREAT stay for the money.
