I booked this place through RCI without really checking it out and stayed during the second week of July 2025. It’s far from the ocean shore, in a low-end-neighborhood. The room smelled, there was no water in it, and plumbing work was going on at night. The sheets were worn, and the front desk gave me erratic guidance. They charged me 150 pesos for a frayed bath towel with hair dye stains, even though I hadn’t used it.

The hotel seemed nearly brand new and was great value. It was clean, had air conditioning, a big TV, hot water in the shower, and plenty of outlets. Staff were friendly, and the desk was staffed from 7am to 11pm, though I’m not sure if you can get in after hours. There’s daily room cleaning if you want it, and drinking water is sometimes available in the lobby. The walk along the canal to Playa Chahué is easy and pleasant, with sidewalks, shade trees, and people out jogging or walking dogs. I’d stay again without hesitation. A few things could be better. The WiFi was weak and intermittent, and the codes in the room didn’t work, so we had to get the right ones from the front desk. Check-in involved giving redundant details like name and phone number, even though those were already on the booking and they copied our ID. You also need a physical key, which is less convenient than an electronic lock. The blood-stain waiver felt unfair and unnecessary since those stains are common and easy to clean. And despite the waiver, our room had a blood-stained sheet. We asked for a replacement at check-in and got one right away, but the sheet should have been checked before the room was prepared.

We got exactly what we were looking for: a very clean place, helpful staff, a quiet location, and reasonable rates. We much preferred this neighborhood to staying down by the beach.
