We liked the room for its comfortable bed, good air conditioning, and reliable Wi-Fi, and the initial price seemed fair. It was clean and comfortable overall, which helped in a town where hotel choices for tourists felt limited. Durango itself is a lovely little place, and the breakfasts included with the room were just so-so. The biggest hassle came when it was time to pay. For all three days, the credit card machine was down. We checked with the office daily and were told to try again tomorrow. On our last day, we spent an hour there while staff wrote up a paper note for us to sign, agreeing to pay remotely once the machine was back online. They should have told us on day one or two that we’d need cash or a check, so we could have gone to the bank in time. The whole thing was stressful. The pool looked a bit dirty, and we never saw anyone in it. The same was true of the small rooftop pool or jacuzzi. I was happy with the price and room at first, but these parts of the stay disappointed me.
