The transportation situation really put me off. A staff member overheard our group asking about an Uber and pushed his “friend” as a driver. We were quoted 250 pesos for a short 20-minute round trip, then at arrival they suddenly demanded 250 USD. It felt like a blatant scam, especially with hotel staff involved. The place itself might be decent, but I felt unsafe during the stay. It’s at the end of an isolated dirt road with no real sense of security, and getting to and from the hotel felt risky, especially after dark. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re prepared for possible scams and no security.
The cabin was really nice, modern, and very clean, with a small kitchen, air conditioning, and a pleasant terrace. The pool was quite clean too, and there’s a shared area with a grill and speakers you can connect your phone to. It’s a great spot for a family group, especially if you rent several cabins. Getting there might feel a little complicated, and the road is dirt, though I had no trouble driving my sedan. Someone meets you when you arrive to confirm check-in and give you the cabin password. The hot water in the shower doesn’t last very long, and the property isn’t fully enclosed since there’s no main gate at the entrance.
We’ll be back soon. It’s a great place, with all the little things thought through: shelves, a big vanity for toiletries, and hangers. The shower is really cool, and the toilet is private.
The stay was much nicer than we expected and an incredible value for the price. The rooms are new and clean, with modern amenities. There’s a small, cool plunge pool, and they provided beach towels. The outdoor grill, chairs, and hammocks are nice for lounging. Lomita/Lunario is within walking distance, and Dona Esthela is a quick drive away. A tip: bring a shower cap if, like me, you don’t always wash your hair in the shower. The rooms have overhead showerheads. Like most places in the valle, getting here means driving on dirt roads that can be muddy and bumpy.
Please read this carefully so it doesn’t happen to you. Check-in was okay, but there was no running water and nobody told me when we arrived. I only found out after getting to the room and trying the shower and bathroom. The person handling check-in didn’t know how long it would take to fix. He called the owner, and we overheard her tell him to give us buckets of water to flush the toilet. I had an event at 4 pm, after our 3 pm check-in, so I left. When we returned around 1 am, water was running, but there was no hot water. We followed the shower sign’s instructions and let it run for about 20 minutes, but nothing changed. My husband checked the water heater and thought it wasn’t working. I tried again at 9 am, still no hot water. I contacted the property through the Booking app, but nobody replied in time before our 11 am checkout. I called Booking about a refund, and they told me to contact the property. I spoke with someone I believe was the owner. She said she couldn’t give me a full refund because the water issue had been fixed, but would give me a partial refund for the hot water problem. I asked her to confirm the agreement with Booking by email, and she said she would. When I called Booking on 07/07, they said they hadn’t received any refund request and that the property had my funds. The Booking agent called the property to check what I’d reported and said the owner or manager was very rude and said she wouldn’t refund me. I’m writing this in the hope I get back what I was promised and to help make sure it doesn’t happen to anyone else.
