The Pangea Valle de Guadalupe

The room was nice, and the AC was great because it was hot. But we had earwigs in there, probably because of the heat. I killed at least ten around the bed. Since the bed was on the floor, there didn’t seem to be anything stopping bugs from crawling into it.

We had a great time at The Pangea, and we’d happily stay again on our next trip. The room was simple but chic, with a king-size bed and a freestanding tub, and the balcony was lovely for quiet Valle mornings. The location was perfect. We also met one of the owners, who was wonderful, and Anna, the property keeper, was so helpful and nice.

The cabins and A frame could work if you want to upgrade from camping, and the place is clean and very photogenic. Breakfast was decent, too. But for a fancier stay, I’d choose another hotel with more comfort and better equipment, since some are similarly priced or even cheaper. We were disappointed with the service. At 3 pm check-in, one staff member seemed stressed and rushed. Our A frame’s AC remote wasn’t working. A technician came about an hour later and tried to fix it from outside, even though we offered to let him in. He stayed around ten minutes, said it worked, handed us the manual “just in case,” and left. The other staff member was gone, and the remote still didn’t work. We couldn’t figure it out, so the room was hot that night. We’d met the Airbnb host earlier and he was nice, but he didn’t return to see if it had been resolved. My complaint isn’t about the staff, who seemed like decent local people. It’s about the people running the place. Next time we’d rather stay somewhere with local Airbnb hosts who support their staff more.

The place is gorgeous, and for the price we got more than we expected. The owner greeted us and made sure my wife and our friend had everything they needed in the glampings to feel comfortable. He really went the extra mile to make our stay good. I’d gladly recommend it and will definitely return.
