When we were in Guadalajara in February 2026, a major cartel leader was shot and the city went into full lockdown, with people being advised to find shelter. The hostel kindly let all seven of us take refuge in the lobby and use a bathroom, even though we weren't paying guests and they had no rooms available. It was such a kind, amazing thing to do. MUCHAS GRACIAS!!!

The morning staff were cheerful and bubbly, though the night staff member who checked me in had a bad attitude, perhaps because her shift was nearly over. I stayed just one night at this small, lovely hotel with a beautiful rooftop. Watch out for the ceiling fans, they're quite low. I'm not sure whether the other rooms are the same.

I had a nice time in the city, but staying here made me uncomfortable. Whenever I asked the receptionist for help, she answered rudely and with a bad attitude. I work in customer service myself, and I'd be embarrassed to treat someone that way.
