Hotel Real de Castilla

The only snag for us was finding the place. Once there, we loved the cute, clean feel, the decor, and the restaurant. The staff were kind and very helpful. We'd absolutely stay again.

We were happy with the price, and the gorgeous old-style building was fine, though it could use a little makeover. Our main room complaint was a high window without a curtain, which let outside light in all night. Bring an eye mask if you need a dark room to sleep. The neighborhood can feel a bit sketchy late at night or early in the morning. It's a good base for exploring town.

We stayed four nights and had a great time, with no problems. The colonial-style hotel is very pretty, the staff were great, and the hot water had plenty of pressure. It's close to attractions, feels safe with lots of activity around, and everything is within walking distance. We wanted a local hotel, and this suited us. If you're after luxury, though, this isn't the place for you.

I felt as if I were in my favorite part of Greenwich Village, New York, only in Mexico. The location was close to everything, with whatever I needed right outside the door, and the king-size bed was very comfortable. This charming, budget-friendly boutique hotel gave me five-star service. The staff, especially manager Victor Navarro, and the hotel owner were caring and welcoming. I was treated with more warmth and hospitality than at anywhere I've stayed in the US or Mexico for ten times the price.
