Hotel Mutuo Vive

The room was lovely and comfortable, with a thoughtful layout, a great bed, memory foam pillows, plenty of hot water, and a large kitchen with everything we needed. We also found an extra hide-a-bed that we hadn’t known about, which could be useful when we travel with our toddler next time. We stayed at Hotel Mutuo Vive and had a great time. It’s an easy place to return to, with free parking, an on-site breakfast restaurant, and self-service laundry that was especially practical with a little one. The only minor misses were a coffee maker and an iron in the room. We’ll be back, and this will be our regular spot when we visit.

There’s no pool or gym, and the place isn’t fancy, but it has a modern feel and lots of shared space inside and around the hotel. It’s a bit away from the tourist area, which I liked. The neighborhood felt safe and was quiet at night, with a few small cafes and restaurants within walking distance. On our first day, the bathroom had no soap, so we had to ask them to sort that out. Aside from that, it was good, and I’d stay here again if I return to Guadalajara.

The cleanliness was awful. I left in the middle of my first night because the room was dirty and unsanitary. Check the beds for hair and deeply wrinkled sheets, which may mean they haven’t just been washed. The couch had so many stains that I wouldn’t sit on it, and I’d avoid looking under the toilet or sink. I asked for a refund after leaving instead of staying the four nights, but they refused to help and said the reservation was nonrefundable. Cheaper doesn’t always mean better, and this was a clear example for me. Don’t put yourself through the bad experience I had here. My sister was moved to two other rooms, and those were dirty too. We had to leave because there were no more rooms. I don’t believe the people giving this place good ratings are real customers.

From outside, the hotel looks modern and nice, but inside it was filthy. My husband and I were excited to stay, but it turned into the worst hotel we’ve ever been to. After a late night out in the city, we came back to find hairs under the sheets and stains on both the bed sheets and couch. The restroom was dirty too, with hair under the sink. We were very disappointed by the lack of cleanliness. We didn’t stay, but they still wouldn’t give us a refund. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone visiting Guadalajara.
