Hotel Los Pinos Express

Okay.

The rooms were clean and the staff friendly, but there was no electricity for two days, and the TV never worked. They also add a 4% charge for card payments, which isn’t entirely legal. The establishment should cover that cost.

For the price, I expected less, so finding good-sized, clean rooms and a clean bathroom was a pleasant surprise. The staff were very friendly too. The rooms face an open garden, so they can feel pretty cold, probably because of the season. Apart from the occasional train passing, it’s very quiet. It’s close to Heineken, and I’d definitely come back.

It’s in a remote location. One night, we got a call from the receptionist trying to extort money, which was frightening. I suggested she call the police, and she did. The next day, she told us about the terrible experience she had with the owners after complaining to the police. It seems they don’t care for their staff, and as a result, their guests either.
