Hotel Villas Fandango

We spent a night here with a big family group in January, just to be around Huatulco. The staff were super friendly and helped with all our requests, lol. They let us choose a room each time we've stayed, and the ones we picked have been fine. This visit, though, the sheets were dirty, so my husband and brother-in-law had to go buy some. The building is older, with steep steps, and some rooms could use renovation. We had an issue with the TV this time, but staff fixed it quickly. You can order food from the menu if you don't want to go out. One thing we like is that they let our family come use the pool for a small fee. We may look at other hotels next time.

The view was nice, and there's access to the beach, though reaching it means going down several flights of stairs. The stairs around the hotel are very steep, which felt a little dangerous while hauling our luggage. At $40 USD a night, you get what you pay for. The bathroom was private but outside the main room, and bugs and geckos kept getting in at night. We didn't trust the sheets either. I'd only come back if I were traveling on a shoestring budget.

It's a beachy-looking place with a nice view from both the balcony and the pool. Nothing fancy, but the basics are there: a pool, room service, daily cleaning, and a private beach. Each room also has a microwave and a minibar/frigobar. Keep in mind there's a lot of stair climbing, and it's definitely not wheelchair accessible.

The beds were rock hard, our room kept losing water, and getting around the property on its difficult stairs was a challenge. There seemed to be no maintenance at all. Worse, money was stolen from our room, and staff were extremely disrespectful about it, showing no concern and trying to call us liars. I wouldn't give them even one star. DO NOT STAY HERE!
