Apartments & Suites MADRE Holbox Self-Check IN

The patio and pool felt like a little oasis, and we often picked up breakfast or lunch to eat beside the water or between swims. Our upstairs apartment also had a private balcony where we could read and air out our towels. The beach, port, and shops were all close by. We stayed for a week in March and were very comfortable. It wasn’t too hot and mosquitoes weren’t in season, though we still used the air conditioning. The apartment was nicely decorated and cozy. It’s run like an Airbnb, so there’s no daily cleaning unless you ask. Since Holbox is so sandy, I just requested a broom and that was enough to keep things under control. Highly recommend!

No complaints from me. The rooms are modern and nice, there’s A/C, and it’s great value for the money.

The pool area was peaceful and really nice, and the room itself had a lovely design. But it felt like looks came before practicality. There wasn’t a proper barrier between the shower and the rest of the room, so shower moisture spread inside. I think that may be why the room had a musty, moldy smell. The Wi-Fi was also only so-so and kept dropping while I was using it.

The courtyard frogs are adorable, and the small pool is a nice way to cool off in the evening. It’s a lovely, quiet little oasis right in central Holbox. Still, the room had a very strong mildew smell that spoiled the whole stay. We were also given a room that was at 30C.
