Hotel Mittoz Holbox

The rooms were clean and the staff very nice, but the noise was unbelievable. We stayed only one of the two nights we’d paid for. Don’t choose this place if you expect to sleep before 2h00 AM. We only learned about the “music problem” after paying and signing the no-refund form.

The air conditioner leaked so much that I woke up to a pool of water in my room. I reported it at reception and all they said was “okay.” On top of that, loud music went on constantly until very late, so I couldn’t sleep.

It’s a fun little spot for a bite, with fast service, great staff, and a perfectly chilled michelada. The food was pretty good, and the rooftop bar and restaurant give you a nice view over town from above. There’s also a tiny pool up there, really tiny. I can’t imagine swimming in it or even hanging out there.

The rooftop terrace is fun and has a good view, and the hotel is close to the beach, bars, and restaurants. But the music was so loud we couldn’t sleep; it felt like we were on the dance floor. We’d booked and paid for three nights, and after the first night asked whether anything could be arranged. Nothing could be done, so we booked another hotel down the road. We kept our key to the apartment at Mittoz because it had a big fridge and balcony where we hoped to relax. To our dismay, they let other people into our room while it was still ours. We went to reception upset, but the manager just kept saying he could let others in because we had checked out. We hadn’t checked out, still had the key, and had paid for the apartment.
