Hotelito Villas Holbox

We arrived as a group on Monday 25th November and found dirty blankets and BEDBUGS in several rooms after checking in. The hotel denied there were any bedbugs. Don’t go there. Luckily, there are plenty of nice, clean hotels in the area.

We came for a quick 4 day trip and were impressed by how good the accommodation was for the price. It was clean, quiet, comfortable, and centrally located, with great, friendly, attentive service. There weren’t any amenities, but we didn’t need them. We just wanted an affordable, comfortable room to sleep in, and that’s exactly what we got.

The shower was excellent, and water is scarce on the island, so that was a real plus. The bathroom was fine, the air conditioning worked well, and the location was good value. Internet was a bit unreliable, though the whole island seems to be like that. The beds were okay. The keys were rusty, and one night we couldn’t get in because of ours, but someone came to help. We rented bicycles too, and their chains were very rusty.

The rooms are wooden and basically like sheds, so they don’t block much sound. There was construction next to our room, and the builders could see inside. WiFi was poor, and the lighting was all bright ceiling lights with no softer mood option. It’s newly built and in a good location, with a fridge, a nice bathroom, a good shower, and air conditioning that works well.
