My Blue Hotel

We really enjoyed the open grounds, with a little pool, hammocks, palms in the sand, a restaurant, and beach access across an easy sandy track. The beach was relaxed, with seaweed some days and not others. Our bungalow was nicely equipped with a safe, bottled water, hangers, chairs, and everything else we needed, though we didn't come here to spend time indoors. Town is about a ten minute walk away. A lovely place to stay.

The restaurant appetizers were very good, though breakfast became predictable and was only good enough. The staff were friendly and capable, and the hotel was well located, quiet enough to get away from the noise of carmival while still convenient for punta mosquito and el centro. There was sargasam (?) weed while we were there, but it was manageable, and some beaches had more than others. I'd recommend the hotel to friends and family, and would come back.

We came for a long weekend with seven families. The rooms were comfortable, and the location was good, about a 15-minute walk to the city center and Playa Mosquito. The restaurant and room service staff were excellent, especially Angela and Dani. The front desk experience was less good: check-in took a long time, and Angel offered little flexibility or help speeding things up for our large group. When bad weather had us playing cards in a common area, we were asked to move and had to shift the table ourselves without any assistance. Good restaurant staff and location, but the front desk service needs work.

The hotel sits on the quieter side of the island, near playa mosquitos and its white sandbanks. We walked there from the hotel, and also walked to town, about 25 minutes along the beach. The beach area was beautiful, with comfortable palapas and chairs, and staff brought food and drinks to us there. Breakfast was included and had lots of choices, from chilaquiles and hot cakes to eggs, fruit, bread, cereal, juices, tea, and coffee. The restaurant itself is lovely and right by the beach. There are two large, clean pools, one in the main garden and one infinity pool. You can get two beach or pool towels and exchange them at reception as often as you like. We stayed in a beach view room, which had a fridge, huge TV, comfortable bed, nice couch, plenty of clean towels, and a balcony with two chairs where we enjoyed a drink while watching and listening to the beach. The staff were friendly and respectful. Best hotel we've stayed at in Mexico, and we'd recommend it to anyone.
