Náay Boutique Hotel - Holbox

The pool, beach, and rooms are all beautiful, and the hotel has a lot of potential. The staff were friendly, though things felt disorganized. We waited over 20 minutes for ice cream, and it arrived melted. It’s a long way from central Holbox, which could suit someone looking for seclusion, but the food and service need to improve to make the location worthwhile. The menu is expensive and limited, with no good Mexican choices, which is what many people come to Mexico hoping to eat when staying off-resort. The best thing we tried was the cheeseburger, which was disappointing. We felt we had to go elsewhere for food, a 15-minute walk to the closest place or 30 minutes into town. A “taxi” costs 200 pesos each way.

The beachy feel runs through the rooms and the boardwalks linking the different areas. It’s away from the island’s busier part, with a short walk to the real beach and a gorgeous sunset each night. The pool was nice, though not very practical for swimming. Staff were great and the food was delicious, but meals and drinks took a long time, as if they were short-staffed. The mosquitos were incredibly annoying, though that’s not the hotel’s fault. My minor gripe was how little useful space there was in the bathroom. The long, trough-shaped sink was about 4' long and 1.5' wide, but shallow, ugly, and took up the counter where I needed to put toiletries. The shower had a huge empty spot where shelves should be, so I had to leave my things on the floor because the closest hook was far from the water. They went for looks over usefulness, which made getting ready a pain. Even with that, it was one of my favorite hotels on the trip, and I’d stay again.

The poolside area was such a nice place to unwind, and the hotel itself is beautiful. From arrival, everyone made us feel welcome, always smiling, kind, and accommodating. Thanks to Zuriyana for the lovely breakfast service, Olga for her warm smile and eagerness to help, and Abraham and Raul for being so attentive. The other staff whose names we didn’t catch were wonderful too. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back soon.

The private plunge pool rooms look lovely, and the hotel is beautiful. Breakfast was perfect every day, and the tacos at lunch were amazing. You’ll need a taxi to reach the center, but reception will call one for you. I’d definitely stay again!
