Elements of the Island

Madjid and the staff were welcoming and friendly, and there’s even a cute cat called Mindy. The rooms were clean, had nice AC, and came with water. Daily cleaning is offered. Breakfast at the café downstairs was excellent, and the rooftop was a nice place to hang out. The location is fantastic, just blocks from Playa Centro, Playa Norte, and the main street’s restaurants and shops. We loved our stay and will be back.

The room had a basic kitchen and cutlery, so you can make breakfast yourself, though the cafe’s breakfast is hard to resist. There are all kinds of omelettes and homemade jams. Our room was cleaned every day, and the nights were peaceful. In the morning we woke to the sounds of nature. We were lucky to stay in such a lovely, authentic place on an otherwise very touristic island, with a great host.

We only ate at the restaurant, didn’t stay there. It’s a cosy wee family run spot tucked off the main drag, with a relaxed atmosphere, lovely staff, and a great breakfast at reasonable prices. Nobody pressured us to come in, and there was no loud music or noise. We had BLTs, fruit plates, fresh orange juice, and iced lemonade. A perfect start to the day. Give it a try for breakfast if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the restaurant street.

We stayed six great nights, and the staff were great. The attached cafe was convenient and good, with lots of locals eating there. The location is fantastic, about a five minute walk to North Beach and 15 minutes to the ferry, with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. The rooms were large, beds comfortable, hot water worked, AC was good, and bottled drinking water was provided. They cleaned daily and replaced towels, with bedding and beach towels changed every few days. Beach chairs and umbrellas were available to use. It was very quiet, though on Friday and Saturday you can hear some bass from a neighboring bar from about 10-12:30. Definitely would stay again.
