The room was swanky, spotless, and had a great ocean view, and the property itself is lush and beautiful. But the people are what made the stay so good. We arrived after reception had closed and were met in the driveway, then shown to our room with a note to check in the next morning. Just after we closed the door, someone came back to ask if we wanted dinner before the restaurant shut at 8. They took our order and made sure the kitchen got it in time. Though we arrived close to closing, nobody rushed us, and we had a lovely pasta dinner. In the morning, Carlos handled our check-in and gave us restaurant suggestions. He even called the place we picked to book a table, and arranged a taxi. When we returned after dark, a staff member walked us back with a flashlight. We were looked after so well. This would have been a lovely property regardless, but the staff made it an excellent stay. One thing to know: the front desk isn't open 24 hours. Still, we felt safe, comfortable, and cared for.

Our vacation home was only a few steps from a nine-mile stretch of soft sand, with warm, mild water for swimming. The room was roomy and comfortable, and every staff member we met was friendly and welcoming. The grounds and amenities were kept in excellent shape, and all the meals we had there were delicious. It felt like a magical, secluded beachfront escape, whether you're traveling as a couple or with kids. Their “Barefoot Luxury” tagline really fits. I'd love to come back.

The beach is what brought us here, and it was gorgeous, stretching for miles. The surf gets big, but we could still play in the waves, and the water was clear and warm. Las Palmas had loungers, swings, and bali beds set up on the sand. I noticed other resorts on Playa Blanca didn't have much beach setup. We wanted a few lazy days in a hammock, and that's pretty much what my spouse and I did. Our one-bedroom beachfront villa had a little private yard and plunge pool, which we ended up using a lot. The room was huge, nicely decorated, with a comfortable modern bed and an outdoor shower. There wasn't a kitchen for making our own meals, though, and we had some nighttime visitors in the room: a scorpion, spiders, beetles, and geckos. The grounds were fabulous, and the pool was the cleanest I've seen, with spectacular ocean views. Service by the pool and beach was warm, friendly, and attentive. Really, service throughout Las Palmas was 10/10. The restaurant served fresh, creative food, including catch of the day, but it was VERY expensive. Las Palmas is a special place for rest and relaxation. Despite those few downsides, we had a five-star experience and can't wait to return.

We spent our days walking the beach and always felt safe. Las Palmas is remote, peaceful, and beautiful, even better than the pictures suggest. The service suited us: staff were there when we needed something, but never hovered or made it feel pushy.
