The best part is the peace. The hotel sits right by the ocean, with just a few steps between you and a wide stretch of quiet. It’s about 3 km from the village, with only five rooms, so there’s a good chance of being left undisturbed. The road is dirt and bumpy, but it’s safe if you drive slowly. This isn’t a luxury place with sealed glass walls and fancy multi-setting showers. The furniture is a little old, but fully functional and comfortable. We ate at the hotel’s own restaurant every day and never regretted it. The food is good and reasonably priced, so there were no unpleasant bill surprises. Breakfast may seem small, but you can order extra items from the a' la cart. The staff are very nice and genuinely helpful. The water by the hotel is clean and enjoyable, though it’s not turquoise because there’s a mangrove inlet about 1 km away. There are piles in the water where you can watch fishing birds. About 1 km from the village there’s a “small shop and camping”; if you buy something there, you can go into the area and sit on the beach. The water is bluer there and better for swimming, and the people are nice everywhere. The main drawback was the many mosquitoes from the natural surroundings. We were there in December. Baldeim would be good I recommend! Thanks for everything, I hope we can return.

The owners made us feel at home. They cooked for us, helped sort out any issues, and were warm people all around. It’s a wonderfully relaxing place, tucked away from the noise of the cruise crowds, and I can’t recommend it enough if you just want to chill. We’ll be back! P.S. Don’t let the bumps in the road to the property put you off. It was actually fun to navigate them, and any modern car can handle them just fine.

We brought our dogs, and they had a fantastic time playing fetch on the beach all day. The hotel is a little way out of town but easy to find, and we loved how quiet and peaceful it was. The rooms are separate bungalows, all facing the sea, with sunrise views from the porch and a rooftop of your own for stargazing. A delicious breakfast with generous portions is included each morning. If you don’t want to go into town for dinner, just tell Carolina what you’d like. Bring long pants and bug repellent for the evening, especially as the sun goes down.

We loved Maya Luna and thought it was great value for money. It’s a small resort with only four chalets right on the beach. Each has its own terrace with hammocks and a table and chairs, plus a rooftop sun terrace. You can borrow kayaks and life vests to paddle out to the reef, and eating meals on the beautiful beach is wonderful. Sair was very helpful and welcoming. The downsides were mosquitoes getting in through the window screens, and rooms that need freshening up and a deep clean.

The food was very good, and the staff were excellent, keeping everything running smoothly. Our oceanfront bungalow was super clean and comfortable, with a great upstairs patio and lots of privacy. WiFi worked around the property but not inside the rooms, which gave us a nice chance to disconnect. Dogs are allowed, and my two loved it too.
