Holiday Inn Matamoros

We spent a very uncomfortable night on the third floor with my family. The whole floor felt hot and humid, and the elevator made it clear the hotel's AC system wasn't working properly. Our room's AC was set to 69 but felt like 78 at night. The shower head was broken, and the mini fridge wasn't even on; I'm not sure it worked. This hotel doesn't meet Holiday inn standards at all, and it wasn't worth what we paid. We'll never stay there again.

We came to this hotel mainly for the pool, but the hassle and headache aren't worth it. The front desk woman had a bad attitude from the moment I arrived. I booked two queen beds through the Hopper app, and she first claimed the reservation wasn't paid, even though it was. I had to pay cash and try to sort it out with Hopper myself. The keys she gave us led to a room with twin beds. When I went back down, they insisted the hotel had no queen beds, though I'd stayed here before and knew otherwise. My reservation clearly said two queen beds. The whole experience was horrible, and I was shocked by how they treated me. We won't stay here again.

The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly, so the hotel is okay. But not having a microwave in the room really annoyed me. I don't always want to go out for food, especially when I have leftovers from the night before. I shouldn't have to eat them cold or pay the attached restaurant to warm them up. That's ridiculous, and I may not come back. There's a new hotel down the street, and maybe they have room microwaves.

The food tastes amazing, and the place has a really cool vibe. Carlos, our waiter, was super nice and made the experience even better. Loved it!
