The forest views in Mazamitla are beautiful, and the food was good. It’s a lovely spot for a quiet break or a celebration with family and friends, especially for a weekend away from the city.

We booked a “Villa” through Booking.com after reading that it came with a large bedroom, full kitchen, dining area, and more. What we got was a 4-by-3-meter room with a tiny kitchenette, a terrible shower, and a drain that was blocked. It felt like false advertising. I’d seen someone describe the same problem two years earlier, and as of December 24, 2025, the drain was still clogged. There was no internet either, and the TV remote didn’t work. The forest setting is beautiful, but getting to the place was a little confusing because there are so many nearby cabins. I left right away and lost my money since there was no refund. The whole stay was awful.

The room was tiny and nothing like the villa photos. The bed was rock hard, both the shower drain and toilet were clogged, and the internet was awful. They say the place is pet friendly, but then tried to charge 300 pesos for each pet. The dark-skinned guy didn’t offer any help with Wi-Fi or answer our other questions. Terrible experience.
