Having breakfast included was great, and the kitchen, lockers, hammocks, and shared facilities were good. There are two showers and two toilets for the whole hostel, and the staff were super friendly. We were in the four-bed dorm that was advertised with its own bathroom, but when we arrived we were told it was out of order. I’d have preferred to know on arrival that the room had a bathroom that wasn’t available, instead of feeling like a feature we booked was missing. That misadvertising is why I took off a star. I’d happily stay again, just with lower expectations.

The old building is beautiful, with a great courtyard, though the theme feels more Asia than Mexico. There’s a community vibe, so it seems easy to meet people if you’re traveling alone. A great place to crash, definitely recommend.

The rooms and beds were quite comfortable. Owner Sarah went out of her way for us, staying awake until 3 am to let us in after our flight was delayed, then making us a late breakfast the next morning. She’s incredibly nice.

Volunteers blasted music until 1 am and seemed not to care that guests wanted to sleep. It was really disrespectful. The mattress was old and bad, and the WiFi was weak. I wouldn’t recommend the place to anyone. Sorry for being so negative, but that’s how it is. Frida was very welcoming and did a great job, though.

The common areas are lovely and full of interesting people, and both bathrooms were clean. The bed was okay too. The hostel itself is really nice, with the shower as the one bad part.
