Casa Lucia Hotel Boutique

I felt right at home here as a solo traveler, and would gladly return. The staff were kind and helpful, and my spacious room had a luxurious feel. I loved the courtyard pool, tucked away in the middle where it stayed mostly quiet. Merida's restaurants and shops are right nearby, and the area felt very safe and easy to get around. One of the best boutique hotels I've stayed in.

The location is great, with big rooms, clean spaces, and comfortable beds. The outdoor area and pool are lovely, though there were so many mosquitoes around the pool that I ended up covered in bites. They really need regular garden mosquito spraying. The towels weren't great, and one had a hole, and the Wi-Fi signal in the room was rubbish. We did love the complimentary water for refilling bottles.

Nadia at the front desk was a real gem. She helped with all our basic requests and was always smiling. The pool among the tropical plants and fountains was sublime, and the rooms were wonderfully spacious and appointed, with colonial charm and a high-end feel at a surprisingly affordable price. The hotel itself is charming, tucked just off the main tourist street, calle 60. My husband and I stayed a few nights and already wish we'd booked longer. I want to go back, and I've only just left.

The little pool and main courtyard are cute, and our clean first-floor double room had crisp, cold AC and a comfortable bed. The location is great, across from Parque de Santa Lucia, where there's live music every Thursday, and roughly a 10-minute walk to the Cathedral, main Plaza, and Centro. Breakfast as an add-on was fine. I can't think of anything substantial to criticize, maybe the lack of an ice machine, though I didn't really miss one. I'd go back. GO PACK GO
