Hotel Victoria Merida

The staff at the hotel and the on-site restaurant made me feel like family, and I can't wait to return after my two-week stay. Housekeeping brought fresh, clean linen and left the room spotless every day. The room, service, and location were all worth the stay. There was so much nearby: restaurants, a bakery with fresh daily pastries and bread, the hospital, malls, monuments, beaches, and more. I enjoyed early morning walks past statues and monuments, with well-lit streets and clean, crisp air. Most staff mainly spoke Spanish, but they tried their best to help by speaking slowly. When I had trouble understanding, we used apps to communicate smoothly. WHAT AN ADVENTURE!!!

For this price, everything felt perfect and great value. We usually stay at a bigger hotel nearby, but had been curious about this little gem. The location was the best, and our cute private terrace looked over Paseo Montejo, where we could eat every day and watch horse carriages, joggers, and people walking. We used the rooftop jacuzzi daily when we weren't at the beach. The staff were lovely, with an old school feel, even opening doors for us. Beds were a bit hard and some towels were worn out, but those were small issues next to the rest. There's a great coffee shop across the street, Justo, and Pan Montejo bakery, as well as lots of restaurants and a Walmart where you can buy things like purified water.

The restaurant inside was fantastic, with excellent service and great, affordable food and drinks. The staff were all so kind, and both the room and building were stunning. The hot tub was great too, though minerals from the water do get into it. From what I could tell, that wasn't the staff's fault, despite what I'd seen in previous reviews. The rooms were very clean and the building seemed to be kept in pretty immaculate condition. It felt like a resort near beautiful Centro Merida, without the resort cost.

Such a beautiful property, and the price and location are hard to beat.
