Selina Mexico City

We were a university group of 18 and stayed here for a week. The staff were outstanding with such a big group, always helpful and kind. Rooms and bathrooms were fairly clean, and they cleaned our rooms almost every day. The hotel itself is beautiful and modern. It’s about a 15-20 minute walk from the centro, close to subway and bus stations, and near lots of other things. There were afternoon and evening events, especially on weekends; some were free for hotel guests, and others came with discounts. I had a good experience.

It was handy to be able to walk to bars and good restaurants, and the central location also made buses and subways easy to reach for getting around. Everyone was kind and helpful, and the room was clean and pretty. They organize activities during the week and share the details by WhatsApp. If you opt for breakfast, allow 35-45 minutes for it to arrive. It tastes good, though.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to backpackers or other travelers. There are nearby hostels that are much better, and compared with other Selina locations I’ve stayed at, this one falls short of the usual standard. The coworking space, cafe, and restaurant were the good parts. The staff were friendly and supportive, and they do provide towels, but that’s about it. Even backpackers expect a basic level of quality, especially from Selina, which usually does well and charges a premium. The dorms and other spaces felt dark and poorly ventilated, a bigger problem since there’s no AC. Bathrooms had no soap dispensers, just soap in a plastic cup, and the toilet paper roll hung from a clothes hanger. The place had a transient feel, like people were tucked away in a huge building converted into a hostel while waiting to move on. Honestly, it gave me homeless vibes. They could make this a lot better by taking care of simple things. Hope they realize that soon. Cheers to the supportive staff.

There’s a big community kitchen and dining area, a library, clean toilets, and plenty of spots outside the room to hang out. The welcome drink was a nice touch. The staff are super friendly and the service feels personal. The manager is very focused on providing quality service. A beautiful experience.
