City Express by Marriott Ciudad de México EBC Reforma

The location was good, and the rooms were clean. Breakfast was a solid standard, and I really appreciated them making separate scrambled eggs for my picky daughter. The bathroom was a hassle. For three people we got two large towels and one small one; they brought more the day after we asked. The hotel shampoo is terrible, so bring your own. The toilet seat cover is so thin you can't sit on it while drying your hair. The old, small hair dryer takes forever to dry long hair. The reception staff don't speak English, so we communicated with Google Translate.

The location really stands out, right beside a shopping mall with plenty of places you can walk to. I found it better than the other City Express hotels I’ve tried in CDMX.

Getting around was easy: there are two bus lines, one on either side of the hotel, both under a five-minute walk away, and the nearest metro is less than ten minutes on foot. I felt safe walking at any hour. The breakfast room was clean and served a basic continental breakfast. The A/C worked well and was quiet.

Right by Reforma avenue, this is a small, simple hotel with clean rooms of an okay size. You can hear everything outside because the doors are very thin and the rooms have no soundproofing. Reception staff didn’t speak much English, but we managed to communicate.
