The room was comfortable, clean, and well cared for, and the hotel had a warm feel throughout. We stayed for about a week and a half, and the staff made us feel welcome every day. They were friendly, attentive, and ready to help. The food had plenty of tasty options, and room service was quick, fresh, and convenient. We also noticed the care the team put into the property. We had a wonderful stay and would happily come back.

The neighborhood is near a brothel and has a lot of prostitution. Our room was too cramped once we had the cot and stroller. They offered to move us after we’d unpacked, but after travelling from London, we really didn’t want to start over. Check at the desk that your room is large enough, since rooms of the same type can vary in size.

We only lasted one night before moving to another hotel in a different area. The bathroom had a constant sewage smell mixed with strong chemical odors, and the area felt unsafe, with prostitution and a lot of nighttime activity. I wouldn’t recommend bringing a family here. Things went wrong from the start. Nobody showed us to our room, so we had to find it ourselves and felt lost in the hotel. When we tried to cancel, the hotel didn’t respond or offer any help. Terrible experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The location is handy for the historic downtown. Zocala is about a 20-minute walk, and the city’s other main sights are accessible too. The hotel could use some attention, though. Leaky taps need fixing, and toilets flushing in the adjoining room woke us up each night. The gym gear looks like it’s from the 80s and badly needs an upgrade.

I liked how simple and efficient the hotel was. The pool area is a real plus. It’s in a good spot too, with convenience stores nearby and the zocalo and other well-known places close by.
