Hotel Canada Central

The breakfast terrace was a highlight, and the food there was very good. The hotel is only a 3-5 minute walk from the Zócalo, and the front desk was friendly. They even arranged a great ride to the airport during the World Cup chaos. The rooms are small, but modern, comfortable, and very clean, which makes sense downtown in CDMX. The morning staff were especially good, the guys were outstanding and the young woman was super attentive. I've stayed at other Zócalo hotels, including American brands, and preferred this one by far. I hope they enjoy the video I made, and I'll try to make an even better one next time. Loved my stay at Hotel Canada Central. Highly recommend, 10/10.

There was a nice bonus here: free food and drinks at any hour, and the staff were top notch. The hotel is near Zocalo, although during my visit protests and FIFA setup meant only two entrances to the area were open. The room was cramped, but the beds were among the most comfortable I've ever slept in. You can also turn the AC down quite low if you like a chilly room. There's just one small elevator, so waiting for it could be a pain. Still, I had a great stay.

The rooftop is open 24/7 and has free food throughout the day, which made for a great stay. We were there for three nights and would come back. The entrance is on a side street, and room 205 was a little small but well appointed. Melanie was wonderful to deal with and sorted out a concern within a few moments. The staff were great. The only downside was that the walls were a bit thin, so you might hear a conversation from another room. That wouldn't put me off this hidden gem.

For a very reasonable price, we got a lot: a lovely rooftop with unlimited beer, Coke, bar snacks, paninis, and pizza slices, plus a delicious breakfast. The staff were professional and helped us when our Spanish let us down. They also offered hair dryers and other useful items at reception at no charge. Our room had a safe and plenty of space for our bags. It was cleaned daily, with fresh towels and bed linen, and the shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner were replenished. The location made it easy to reach the main attractions downtown, and several tours, including one to the ruins, picked up there. Hotel Canada exceeded our expectations.
