Hotel Castropol

I’ve stayed here a couple of times and I’m coming back in two weeks. For downtown, the location is hard to beat: Zocalo square is a 5-10 minute walk, and the subway is just around the corner with easy connections to other lines. The double room I usually get is roomy, and comes with a TV, hair dryer, soap, water, safe, and WiFi. It’s very clean, with thorough daily housekeeping, and surprisingly quiet for a main road. I’ve only heard the odd thunderstorm. The staff are friendly, and there’s a restaurant, though I haven’t tried it since I’m usually out early. It’s an excellent three-star hotel for the price. I really can’t complain.

It’s right in the center, with subway lines less than a two-minute walk away. The room feels old and dated, but it’s fine for sleeping, especially if you spend the day out exploring.

The sheets were clean and housekeeping were really nice. The room was okay, but the bathroom was small, there was no refrigerator, and the mini split AC made a strange noise. The restaurant was okay too. The location gets a lot of people on the sidewalks. Staff were okay, though the front desk could use more training on being welcoming. It’s not a five-star hotel, so set your expectations accordingly. And when you check out, you have to bring the remote controls with you 😅. I stayed five nights.

The room was spacious, and the staff and service were very nice. It’s about a ten-minute walk to the Zócalo Historic of Central, and the price feels worth it. I’d recommend it to tourists.
