Hotel MX garibaldi CDMX, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

This is an affordable hotel in the middle of a lively city, so keep that in mind. There's no AC or heat, which could be a problem, especially in summer. I booked a balcony room that was pretty for the price, but that side faced a carnival that week and it was loud. The front desk tried really hard to move me, and I appreciated the help since the noise wasn't their fault. The manager was sweet and helpful too. Front desk staff spoke fluent English, and everyone else made an effort with my very rusty Spanish without getting annoyed. The video shows the interior room they moved me to.

I spent four nights here and would come back. The breakfast was great and the service was good, and for the price I thought the hotel was a really good deal. It's in Plaza Garibald, a fun party area where you'll meet all sorts of people. I never felt unsafe, despite what someone had said earlier. Mexico City has around 20-25 million people, so it can feel crowded and you'll see a mix of people. If you want a good hotel at a good price, this spot worked well for me.

It's easy to get around on foot from here, but don't expect a quiet night. Music and fireworks carried on all night. The bedrooms are cute, though infested with roaches. Breakfast was complimentary but disgusting, and the gym machines didn't work.

There was no AC, and the first room had very dim bathroom lighting and what were probably bed bugs, so we had to switch. Even though we'd prepaid the whole trip, we couldn't bear to stay and left for another hotel, which was a thousand times better. We won't come back and can't recommend this place.
