Hotel Brasilia

The restaurant was really good, and the location is okay if you’re visiting the basilica. Beyond that, it’s far from everything else. The streets are loud all day and night, the water pressure is bad, and the bathrooms are weird. The beds could be more comfortable. The bellboy or busboy didn’t help us, or there wasn’t one when we arrived. There weren’t any good views either. For the quality, it was way too expensive when we stayed in Dec 2025.

The hotel itself was good 👍. At breakfast, though, the restaurant worker spoke broken English and charged me twice. He said the card machine wasn't working when I asked to pay by card, so he wanted cash, and then asked me for a tip too.

The staff were so helpful, and the food was really good with decent prices. We only meant to stay two nights, but after the first day we changed our plans and stayed for the whole four-day trip. The rooms were spacious and clean, and it was easy to get to the Metro and bus station, as well as the tourist spots. You can get around for less than $1 a day. We'd definitely come back and recommend this place 100%. Thanks to all the receptionists and waitresses. Excellent hotel ☺️

Getting to the airport took about 15-20 minutes by Uber, and the hotel was very convenient for catching an early bus from the North Bus station. We picked it for the easy walk there and the food options nearby. Across the main road, a street vendor sold us three cheeseburgers for 180 pesos, and there was an OxxO a block toward the station for beer and water. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant, though we might have if it had been raining. Our room was clean and okay, with a split AC unit. The staff were friendly, and the shower had decent pressure and hot water. A couple of the bedside lights didn't work. There were no hooks for used towels, and the bathroom's open-plan layout felt odd. From the front of the building and our window, the view was of the California, with an encampment across the highway median. It looked unpleasant, but seemed to be monitored by police, and we had no bad interactions. I'd stay again, perhaps asking for a room away from the main road.
