The included breakfast was good, and the neighborhood is mostly residential, perhaps quieter at night than more popular areas. We also had hot water and good shower pressure. But this didn't feel like a four-star hotel. The facilities looked very dated, like something from the 1980s. In our Jr. Suite, we skipped the jacuzzi because the jets didn't look clean, and the taps leaked. The toilet room had no vent. The room had AC, but it only worked about 40% of our stay. We knew the hotel was far from many tourist spots, but even allowing for traffic, the morning trip can take nearly an hour, so factor that in when choosing it.

The only problem was a strong, odd smell from the shower drain, especially noticeable when we opened the bathroom door in the morning. I hope they can check it and fix it. Otherwise, I really recommend the place. Breakfast was good and kept us full for the day, the staff were very friendly and polite, and the location felt safe, with plenty of public transport and restaurants nearby.

We stayed at Kali Escandon from Feb 4-11, 2026, and had a lovely week. Our second-floor room was on the hotel's 'quiet' side, and it was comfortable and peaceful. We slept well every night. Housekeeping did a good job daily, and the attentive front desk staff spoke English and were kind with their time and help. Breakfast was included each day, with plenty of good-quality choices, and the dining room staff were pleasant and attentive. It's a 7-10 minute walk to Patritismo metro station, which connects to the whole city. The neighborhood is lovely, with lots of good local places to eat. We especially liked Sonorrita Tacos & Carbón and La ESTACIÓN DEL BURRITO, and had a great meal at Oppa. Apanpacho bakery, a few blocks west on Progreso, is also worth a visit for its incredible pastries. Thanks, we'll be back on our next trip to CDMX.

The breakfast buffet was filling and a great start to the day, and the nearby restaurants and market across the street were really good. If you speak Spanish, they're a great option; otherwise, La Condesa is very close. I stayed in an Executive level suite, and after long days walking through museums for work, the jacuzzi was a real relief for my sore feet. Kali's front desk staff were amazing. I had an excellent stay and would recommend this very nice hotel 10/10.

We had a comfortable stay in a clean, spacious room with everything we needed, and the price was affordable. The hotel is in a great spot, felt safe, and has filtered water refill stations on every floor. Just know that traffic noise is always audible outside, and the walls aren't very thick, so bring a sound machine. I'd definitely recommend it.
