Rodona Hotel

We stayed for over a week and were very comfortable. The bed was great, the AC was essential, and one evening they surprised us with cake and a bottle of white wine. Our room was clean and lovely, though there wasn't much space to hang clothes; the drawers helped and it wasn't a problem for us. We asked for a quiet room and the staff kindly arranged one, and they were quick to respond to requests on WhatsApp. La Condesa felt safe to walk around, and we went everywhere on foot except for a couple of destinations. The location is wonderful, right across from Parque México, where it was lovely to step out on a bright morning. The continental breakfast included with our room was better than most breakfasts I've ordered while travelling, especially the fresh grapefruit juice and papaya. We'd absolutely stay again for the food, the park nearby, and the warm, welcoming staff. Thank you!

Going for a walk in the park first thing was lovely. The hotel sits right in front of it, in a great, convenient part of Condesa. The room, though, was small and humid. My first Deluxe room had a strange smell, so they moved me to one with a balcony. That was a little better, but the odor was still there. I think the air circulation may be the reason: there's no exhaust in the restroom, and the window or door isn't opened regularly. I'd suggest turning on the AC or air purifier at least two hours before guests arrive. Noise also came up from the restaurant on the first floor, and there's no separate entrance for hotel guests. Going to my room in running clothes or shorts after a walk meant passing through the bar, among people dressed for a nice dinner, which felt awkward.

The rooftop at sunset is unreal, and we loved the food, drinks, and service. Rodona was a perfect spot for a trip to Mexico City with just my wife and me, without the kids. We could walk to all the neighboring Colonias from the hotel's location. The staff even helped me arrange flowers and dessert for my wife's birthday through WhatsApp days before we arrived. Truly amazing. Big thanks to Ian! We loved our stay and will come back. If you're looking at hotels in CDMX, give Rodona serious consideration. 10/10.

Getting around the city was easy from this central spot, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We mostly spoke with lan, who gave us dinner suggestions. One day it rained heavily, and water came into our fourth-floor room in two places, through the hardwood and onto the tiled area, because the balconies weren’t covered. We let the staff know. Both common areas were restaurants, and one added a currency conversion fee to the total in pesos. We’d recommend Rodona for a first visit to the city.
