The location is great if you want to walk to Frieda Calós house or the city center, and the hot water was a plus. If you need an affordable place to stay in Coyoacan, this Hostel might work for you. Communication with the staff is very limited, though, and things don’t seem to run well. It’s dirty, and despite apparently having house cleaning, it doesn’t look like much cleaning gets done. Hospitality is poor, and they provide little or no toilet paper.

The room was comfortable and the location was great. The shower started hot, but the hot water ran out, and the pressure was weak. With my long hair, rinsing out shampoo and conditioner took longer than usual, though I still didn’t take a long shower. The wifi was terrible and only seemed to work with a VPN. I didn’t try the free breakfast, so I can’t comment on it. My biggest issue was how poorly managed the place is. After checkout, we left our bags so we could go out for the day. When we came back at 5, the building door was locked and no staff were around to let us in. We spent about an hour trying to reach someone through the Google number, which wasn’t a real number, email, and Booking messages. I finally found a number on Booking. If guests can leave their bags while the building isn’t staffed, they need to be told clearly when someone will be available to let them collect them. Luckily, we had planned to eat dinner before going to the airport, so we had time to spare. Book with caution.

My room had everything I needed for a pleasant stay, and it was practical, clean, and very comfortable. Coyoacán is an excellent location.
