Wyndham Garden Valle Real

The place is very quiet and clean, with comfortable beds. The complimentary breakfast and coffee were nice, too. But we kept having to ask for more towels, and there were no washcloths or Kleenex. Nobody spoke English here either. The restaurant advertises beer, but doesn’t actually offer alcoholic drinks.

I usually stay at Wyndham Hotels in the US and have enjoyed them enough to join the rewards program, so this was such a letdown. When I pulled back the comforter, there was a big stain on the white sheets. The housekeeper called it a small grease stain and said it wasn’t anything bad. I also spotted pubic hairs on the bed, which she seemed to treat as a minor detail. Since it was a double room, she had changed only one bed because a single man had used it the night before and she assumed he hadn’t slept in both. I checked the other bed and found hairs there too. She did change both beds in the end. I hope this post leads to improvements at this location.

There was no hair dryer or face towels, and the shower didn’t have enough hot water. On weekends breakfast doesn’t start until 7, so I couldn’t make it before my flight.

The staff were polite and good, and the service seemed okay. My room smelled damp and strange, and I didn’t enjoy the breakfast. The orange juice tasted a bit sour, and the eggs didn’t look great, though I didn’t get sick. I think these things could be improved, since they’re about the supplies and setup rather than the employees.
