Hotel Angel Inn

I booked a room for my parents a month ahead so everything would be settled. We stopped by in the morning to leave their bags before coming back to check in later, and the staff assured us the room would be ready. When we returned, it still wasn’t ready, and they’d downgraded the room we’d paid for. Their response felt rude and unprofessional. They gave excuses like “there was a change in shifts 🤷” and “it is Guelaguetza season.” They said they’d refund us to make up for the downgrade, but then did nothing, again blaming the same things. Very disappointing service.

We stayed four nights and would gladly come back. The pool is small, but it works for the hotel, and there’s a great restaurant and bar upstairs. The Angel Inn is beautiful, and the service was great. We’d been driving around looking for somewhere that would take me, my wife, and our dog. At first they said no because he was over the weight limit, but the manager agreed to meet him, and they let us stay. I appreciated them being flexible to help a customer.

The gardens and pool were lovely. Our rooms were pleasant, though noisy, and ours didn’t have a fridge. The restaurant was only just adequate for dinner, with slow service and average food. It’s a little far from the town centre. A tour company booked it for us, so we didn’t choose the location.

The antiques were such a lovely collection that just walking around to look at them was a pleasure. The hotel was nice, and everyone, from the customer service staff and waiters to the security guard, made us feel welcome and safe. I’d have preferred somewhere closer to downtown, though the drive from the hotel to most places was fine.
