The room was inexpensive, and the location worked well, close to Santo Domingo and an easy walk to plenty of top restaurants. It’s an older hotel that could use some updating. When I stayed, the hot water was out. They told me before I booked and gave me a discount, so at least there was no surprise.

We planned to stay 3 nights, but left after the first. The sinks were dirty, the rooms weren’t clean, the walls were like cardboard, and hot water was shut off for part of the day. The evening manager was obnoxious and disrespectful, just sitting there on his phone. The website information was misleading, and the photos didn’t match what we found.

It works well enough for a budget stay, and the beds are comfortable. The Wi-Fi signal is strong. There’s a bar right beside the hotel entrance, though, so expect loud music that can go late.

The Zocalo and nearby bars are within walking distance. On my first visit, the toilet was inside the shower, and I wasn’t sure whether that was convenient or just gross. The front doors lock at 12:00am, so if you’re out drinking late, you’ll have to bang on the door to get someone to let you in. Drinking water was always available. I might come back if I need to.
