You get what you pay for here: a decent room, bed, and wifi, at a good price and location. There are only two electrical outlets, though, and one has to be used for the fan.

The room was clean, the staff friendly, and it was quiet at night. The location is great, right beside the famous mercado. I did think it was too expensive.

There’s a mill next door that sells chocolate, perfect for grabbing a hot chocolate to start the morning. The staff are very friendly, and the rooms are spacious and clean, so it works fine for an overnight rest. But it’s on a main avenue, with passing cars and horns during rush hour. I’d treat it as somewhere to return to at night, rather than spend the day in, since there’s no room service or amenities. Based on my experience, it’s suitable for sleeping over.

The service stood out. The ladies working there were kind, attentive, and quick to help with directions. The hotel is basic but very clean, pleasant, and affordable, and we’ve found it just as good as other places in the area. It’s a good fit if you’re heading out to explore. Being in the heart of Oaxaca does make it noisy, so light sleepers may have trouble. For a central base, though, it’s convenient: half a block from the 20 de Noviembre Market and a few blocks from the Zócalo. I had a very good experience.
