Hotel Ferri

The on-site restaurant served an excellent breakfast, and the staff were very friendly. The hotel has recently been refurbished: our bedroom had fresh paint, nearly new furniture, and was very clean and well maintained. The towels and included soap and shower gel were good quality, and the jug of filtered water in the room was a nice touch. We stayed as part of a G-Adventures tour. The location is central, but away from noisy bars and clubs. The main courtyard gate closes at midnight, so there was no traffic noise.

The location may be the best part: Zocalo is about five minutes away, and there's a great market almost next door. The hotel is quite dated, but decent enough for a night or two. Rooms face the inner courtyard, so it may be quiet if you're lucky. The second floor is better for noise too. Our room was a good size, with a handy ceiling fan. The bathroom was clean and had a big shower, but the water pressure left a lot to be desired. Wi-Fi was good. There's a small restaurant, though after buying expensive water once, I was glad I didn't eat there. The shared restroom was awful, and the stall lock didn't even work.

Spotless, quaint, comfortable, and affordable, right in the heart of old Oaxaca. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the day manager. Thank you, Hotel Ferri.
