The host was so accommodating and even arranged a ride for us at 3 AM to catch our flight home. I’m very grateful for that. Casa 1800 had probably the best rooms of all the places I stayed in Oaxaca. The room was cozy, the bed really comfortable, and the shower pressure just right. I wish we could’ve stayed longer. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Oaxaca.

It felt like staying in a beautiful old castle, and the hotel was quiet inside even though it’s close to all the action. We loved the little comforts, from delicious coffee and soft towels to the fluffy bathroom rug, plush bed and bedding, and a complimentary glass of mezcal at the end of the day. We had a wonderful stay and will surely be back.

The place has a fun feel, and the location is right in the city center. It’s a little like an AirBnB since there’s no front desk, and they send you codes for the entrance and your room. Finding it was a bit tricky because there’s no big sign. We didn’t have a car, so parking wasn’t an issue for us, though I’m not sure what the setup is if you do.
