The only real catch was the noise late at night. During the festival of Guadalupe, the music, food, Christmas markets, and celebrations were happening just a block away, and they carried on past 1am. The lovely open courtyard leading to the rooms doesn't block much sound. Still, I had a great stay and would come back. My room had two double beds, and the location is right in the city center. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the manager replied quickly on WhatsApp.

Casa Esmeralda made our five nights in Oaxaca feel special. My father and I felt safe there, and the hotel was secure. Our clean, comfortable room opened onto a rooftop terrace, where we watched more than half a dozen parades pass along our street. It's also a great base for Centro, close to everything and to some wonderful restaurants. Rosario arranged a very early cab to the airport. She and the whole staff were kind and helpful. I can't remember the name of the woman who handled the lobby in the mornings and cleaned the rooms, but she greeted us bright and early and offered coffee, fresh fruit, bread, and bottled water to take along. The colorful lobby has lots of personality. Gracias Casa Esmeralda!

Rosario welcomed our group herself and marked our stay with a shot of Mezcal. The three nights my friends and I spent at Hotel Casa Esmeralda were fantastic. We felt secure thanks to the hotel's system, and everything was extremely clean. The rooms were a good size and had brand new furniture. The location was amazing, just a block from Santo Domingo and within walking distance of anywhere in Central Oaxaca, with plenty of good restaurants and bars nearby. I'd recommend it to friends, family, or anyone planning a visit to Oaxaca.

We spent a week here as a family of four, and it was just right. The owner shared helpful tour agency recommendations, and there are lots of great restaurants close by. Markets and the zócalo are an easy walk away, while the location stays fairly quiet at night. Staff were available around the clock and went out of their way to make us comfortable.

Rosario feels like familia to me now. This was my second stay at Casa Esmeralda, and after several trips to Oaxaca, it's still my favorite. The rooms and hotel are clean and comfortable, and the shower has great water pressure. I also love the rooftop, with its beautiful views of the city and surrounding mountains. All the staff are wonderful. It's right in the heart of Centro, close to everything. Muchas Gracias Rosario!
