The mattresses are the usual rock-hard kind, but you’d get the same thing paying twice as much, so this is still the best bang for your bucks. It’s a typical old school Oaxaca hotel, clean, with kind staff and hot water 24/7. Prices are among the best in town. Just know they take cash only, or bank transfer if you have a Mexican bank account, I guess.

Spent 2 nights here. It’s alright for the price, quiet even in a noisy city, and in a good location. The staff were friendly and the wifi worked. There’s no window in the room.

It’s a small, pleasant hotel run by a family, and the staff are very friendly. The Zocalo and museum are both within walking distance.

Right in the central part of Oaxaca, near the big square, lots of restaurants, and plenty of colonial architecture. It has basically everything you’d be looking for in that Mexican experience. Awesome hotel.

No AC, but there are vents. It’s very close to the tourist attractions, and I’d highly recommend it if you’re on a budget.
